Membership

  • Heritage passes can be upgraded to a regular membership any time before September 30th each season. Annual memberships are good for one calendar year. When you upgrade a Heritage pass, your expiration date will be one year from when you originally purchased the pass.

  • All memberships include free admission to all Mackinac State Historic Parks sites. Heritage passes do not include any other membership benefits. Annual memberships include a discount at all Mackinac State Historic Parks museum stores. Depending on membership level, other benefits may include guest passes, gift certificates, or event tickets.   • Memberships are processed and membership cards are mailed within 1-2 business days of receiving a new member application or renewal. If you will be visiting one of our sites before you may receive your card in the mail, please contact us at 231-436-4100 and we can have your card waiting for you at one of our sites.

  • Guest Service Representatives at the ticket locations can look up membership information if needed. You just need to present a valid ID for verification.

  • You can renew at any ticket location. Your receipt from the ticket location will act as your temporary membership card if your existing membership has already expired or if you are a new member. Your membership will be processed and mailed to you within 3-5 business days of your purchase on site.

  • If you want to have your new membership card waiting for you when you arrive, please complete the membership renewal form online or call the office and renew over the phone. Please let us know that you will be visiting soon and we can hold your membership card for pick up at the site of your choice.

  • Depending on the level of membership all or a portion of your membership dues is tax deductible.

  • We do ask that you please be prepared to show identification with your membership card. We are grateful for the variety of staff we have each year that come from all over the world but we hope you understand that our front line staff may not recognize all our members by name or face and may ask for identification with your membership card.

  • We do have the ability to set up automatic renewal on your membership. When you do this, you will still receive a notice when your membership will renew and what date to contact us by if you want to make changes.

Events

  • Higher level memberships include either discounted or complimentary tickets to this annual event. You can see here how many come with each level. Your membership level is listed on your membership card. If you need help determining your membership level and associates benefits, please contact the office at 231-436-4100.

  • Members are welcome to purchase a ticket to bring a guest to an event. Because our events are designed to be a member-benefit and we have limited capacity at some of our events, we ask that the member accompany the guest to the event.

  • We try to plan for the occasional walk up registration during events, but this is not always possible to accommodate. If you realized you forgot to RSVP, please contact the office at 231-436-4100 during office hours (M-F 8am-5pm) or email membership@mackinacassociates.com and we will try and accommodate you.

Communication

  • Curiosities is mailed to annual members three times a year (late January, late May/early June, late September/early October).

  • Mackinac Associates does not provide, sell or rent membership information to anyone outside the organization, including email addresses. We do use your email to share information on events and news that occurs between our print newsletters, to share member discounts, and information on upcoming events.

  • Mackinac Associates has the ability to store seasonal addresses in your member record. If we know what dates that address is valid (for example May 15 – August 30), our system will automatically pick the appropriate address based on the date we download the mailing list.
